Stumbling into 'The Valet' on Hulu's streaming carousel yielded the kind of results you hope for in a non-theatrical release. Funny, fresh and relatively non-formulaic as a rom-com given its multicultural context.
Truth be told, I didn't need convincing to watch it. Ever since seeing Eugenio Derbez's performance in the Oscar-winning film 'CODA,' I've been anticipating what the 60-year-old Hispanic actor would do next.
Never mind that he's one of the biggest stars Mexico has ever produced. I hadn't seen anything he was in until 'CODA' arrived and he hit all the right notes in it as the non-compromising music teacher.
