As a lifelong Lakers fan, you can imagine my sheer elation when I found out that there would be a series about the historic NBA franchise I grew up seeing at The Great Western Forum. And about the Showtime Era, even better.
So far so good, although some of the plot points get a little snoozy at times (amazingly, given all juicy stuff they have to work with), but one constant in the series is Quincy Isaiah as Earvin "Magic" Johnson.
Isaiah, a novice actor with no notable screen credits to his name prior to landing this role, does a brilliant job embodying the essence of Magic – from looks to his athletic movements to that million-dollar smile.
Here's more about the actor who hails from – you guessed it – Michigan.
